Woolwich Township Theft

Waterloo Region, OntarioOn May 26, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police received a report of a theft of two Sea-Doo personal watercrafts from a residence in the area of High Street in Woolwich Township. 

 The theft is believed to have occurred sometime overnight on May 25 and May 26, 2021. 

 The matching Sea-Doos, is the 2017 GRR 230 HP model and is black and green in colour. Both of the watercrafts were on a trailer, which had an Ontario licence plate (P9719P) attached.

Cambridge Convenience Store Robbery
June 30, 2021

 

Waterloo Region, Ontario - On June 20, 2021, at approximately 3:50 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store in the area of Christopher Drive and Champlain Boulevard in Cambridge. 

The suspect entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded cash from an employee. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area. 

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of the incident. 

The suspect has been described as a white male in his 20s and had a thin build. The male was last seen wearing all black clothing and black and white gloves.

Hate Motivated Crime
June 14, 2021

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating after receiving reports of a hate-motivated crime that occurred in Kitchener.

On May 22, 2021, at approximately 5 a.m., officers responded to the area of Siebert Avenue after rocks were thrown through windows of two residences.

 Attached to the rocks were Anti-Asian messages that were threatening and offensive.

No one was physically injured as a result of the incident.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Detectives and Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Unit are investigating.

On March 6, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Kimberley Road and Galt Avenue in Cambridge for the report of a stabbing.

While exiting a vehicle, the victim, a male youth, was stabbed after being approached by two males. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects were seen fleeing the area in a silver, 4-door vehicle. The vehicle was last observed travelling west on Galt Avenue in Cambridge.

Both suspects were described as being 16 to 19 years old, approximately six-feet tall and were both wearing dark clothing. One of the suspects was also seen wearing a bright-coloured winter jacket.

On January 16, 2021, at approximately 3:22 a.m., a male suspect attended a business on Charles St. W. and Victoria St. S. and ignited a pickup truck which belonged to the business. The fire caused a minor explosion and damaged a second vehicle and the front of the business from heat and the pressure of the explosion. The male was observed watching the incident close by before walking northbound on King St. towards Waterloo.

 

The male is described as 5’10 to 6’0, Caucasian wearing a black jacket with a cut to the back, khaki pants grey hoodie and white sneakers.

 

The damage is estimated to be $120,000.

A second break and enter occurred on February 15, 2021, in the early morning hours.

Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred on June 7, 2020, at approximately 2 a.m. in the area of Charles Street East and Cedar Street South, in Kitchener.

 Police responded to the area after receiving reports of gunshots. It is believed that a dispute broke out between two individuals and shots were fired. Many people were seen fleeing the residence at the time of the incident.

Numerous callers reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area. One adult male suffered a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital and remains in stable condition. The suspect has been described as a black male, with a thin build and short black hair.

The female victim reported that she was approached by a male and sexually assaulted before he fled the area. The suspect was last seen running up Delta Street to Preston Street and turning towards King Street East.

 

The male has been described as 5'7" to 5'8" tall, with a slim/medium build, and possibly had facial hair. Police are looking to identify and speak with this individual in connection to the incident. The male was last seen wearing multi coloured gloves, a dark coloured hoodie, black pants, and a blue surgical mask.

On October 22, 2020, at approximately 3:50 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to the area of Clyde Road in Cambridge for reports of a vehicle on fire. The vehicle was located in the ditch and was fully engulfed. An individual was also reported to have been seen walking away from the vehicle towards a green space. The fire was extinguished, and the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV) was deployed to search the green space for the individual; however, the individual was not located.

 

The investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from out-of-Region. The investigation is ongoing.

On October 26, 2020, at approximately 10 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of shots fired at a vehicle in the area of Ottawa Street South and International Place in Kitchener.

 

 

An altercation occurred between two groups of individuals in two separate vehicles. During the altercation, shots were fired and a subsequent collision occurred involving these vehicles. No injuries were reported at the scene; however, a male victim attended a local hospital shortly after the incident with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was treated and released from hospital.

 

Police are continuing to investigate and are looking for a four-door grey vehicle. This vehicle will have damage to its passenger side. If located, please do not approach the vehicle but call 9-1-1 immediately.

 

This is believed to be a targeted incident.

 The Waterloo Regional Police Service, with the assistance of the Waterloo Fire Department and the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal, is investigating a series of suspicious fires that have occurred in Waterloo over the past month.

 

 

The fires have been reported at the following locations: -

On October 3, 2020, at approximately 2:55 a.m., a fire was reported in the area of Erb Street West.

On October 10, 2020, at approximately midnight, a fire was reported in the area of Amos Avenue.

On October 15, 2020, at approximately midnight, a fire was reported in the area of Regina Street.

On October 20, 2020, at approximately 9 a.m., a fire was reported on Columbia Street West.

On October 26, 2020, at approximately 6:50 a.m., a fire was reported on Lester Street.

On October 27, 2020, at approximately 2:10 p.m., a fire was reported on Northfield Drive.

On September 23, 2020, at approximately 6 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision in the area of 500 Fairway Road South in Kitchener. Two motorcycles were observed travelling north on Fairway Road at a high rate of speed. One of the motorcycles collided with a car that was making a left turn into a business in the area. The driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old Kitchener male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured. The other motorcyclist did not remain at the scene. The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Unit is investigating the events surrounding the collision. The WRPS Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV) was deployed to assist in documenting the scene. Fairway Road between Wilson Avenue and Manitou Drive was closed for several hours while police investigated. Male suffers head injury after being assaulted

An earlier verbal altercation escalated to a physical confrontation when a male suffered a head injury after being assaulted by an unknown suspect.
 
The suspect has been described as a white male who was wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident. The suspect was last seen walking east on King Street towards Cedar Street.
